Jesus Is The Only Way to Find Peace with God

This blog post is a companion to our Sunday sermon. Watch the full message below:

The Universal Search for Peace

In our busy world, everyone seeks peace. We chase happiness, health, and wealth—but true peace remains elusive. Why? Because we’re looking in the wrong places. The deepest peace we seek isn’t found in circumstances—it’s found in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Here’s a profound truth that might challenge you: There are many ways to find temporary peace in life, but there’s only ONE way to find lasting peace with God.

The Bridge Between God and Humanity

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.” – 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Think about bridges for a moment. In cities around the world, bridges connect separated lands, making impossible journeys possible. Similarly, Jesus serves as the divine bridge between humanity and God. Without this bridge, there’s an uncrossable chasm between us and our Creator.

Why We Need This Bridge

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23

Here’s a reality we must face: No matter how good we try to be, we can’t reach God’s perfect standard on our own. Just as a small gap in a bridge makes it impossible to cross, even our smallest sins create an uncrossable divide between us and God.

The Courage to Follow Jesus

Following Jesus isn’t for the faint of heart—it requires courage. Why? Because choosing Jesus means:

  • Surrendering control of your life
  • Potentially facing opposition from family or friends
  • Stepping into the unknown with faith
  • Trading your way for His way

Beyond Religion to Relationship

Here’s where many people get confused: They think Christianity is about following rules or attending church. But here’s the truth that might surprise you: It’s about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” – John 14:6

The Peace That Surpasses Understanding

Think about wearing glasses for the first time. You might have thought you could see fine before, but putting on those glasses revealed a world of clarity you never knew existed. That’s what finding peace with God through Jesus is like—you don’t realize what you’re missing until you experience it.

The Spiritual Law of Sacrifice

Just as physical laws govern our universe, spiritual laws govern our relationship with God. The fundamental spiritual law is this: sin requires sacrifice. Jesus fulfilled this law once and for all through His death on the cross.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

Your Personal Challenge

Here’s my challenge to you today: Take 5 minutes of complete silence and ask yourself these questions:

1. Am I truly at peace with God?
2. Have I been trying to find peace through other means?
3. What’s holding me back from fully surrendering to Jesus?

The Decision That Changes Everything

Remember: You can be religious without having Jesus, but you cannot have peace with God without Jesus.

Just as Augustine said, “Our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You.” Your soul may be experiencing that restlessness right now. The good news is that Jesus is waiting to give you His perfect peace.

Taking the Next Step

If you’re ready to find true peace with God through Jesus Christ, here’s how you can respond:

1. Acknowledge that you need Jesus as your mediator with God
2. Confess that you’ve tried to find peace in other ways
3. Invite Jesus to be not just your Savior, but the Lord of your life
4. Begin walking in relationship with Him daily

Don’t wait for tomorrow to find peace with God. Jesus is the way—the only way—and He’s waiting for you today.
