Alive in Jesus: Discovering Your New Life in Christ

This article is a companion piece to our Easter sermon series. Watch the full message below.

The Transformative Power of Easter

Easter isn’t just another religious holiday—it’s a profound celebration of life conquering death. As believers in Jesus Christ, we have a unique perspective on life and death that sets us apart. We don’t fear physical death because we know heaven awaits us, made possible through Jesus’s sacrifice.

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12

The Four R’s of Salvation

When we study the doctrine of salvation (soteriology), we discover four transformative elements that shape our new life in Christ:

1. Regeneration: Your Spiritual Metamorphosis

Just as a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, accepting Christ triggers a miraculous transformation in your spirit. This isn’t just an external change—it’s a complete internal renovation.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

2. Reconciliation: Restored Relationship with God

Sin created a divide between humanity and God. Through Jesus’s sacrifice, we’re restored to right relationship with our Creator. This reconciliation isn’t earned through good works—it’s a free gift of grace.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21

3. Righteousness: Living in God’s Standards

Our own righteousness falls short of God’s glory. But in Christ, we receive His righteousness as a gift. This transforms how we live, think, and interact with others.

“But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” – Isaiah 64:6

4. Responsibility: Your Kingdom Assignment

With new life comes new purpose. We become ambassadors for Christ, representing His kingdom on earth. This isn’t a burden—it’s a privilege that gives our lives eternal significance.

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” – Mark 16:15

Your New Identity in Action

Being alive in Christ isn’t just about personal transformation—it’s about impact. Like a doctor recommending a trusted colleague to a patient, we have the opportunity to share our life-changing experience with others. Whether through personal testimony, acts of kindness, or simply living differently, our lives should point others to Jesus.

The 30-Day Kingdom Ambassador Challenge

I challenge you to embrace your role as Christ’s ambassador for the next 30 days:

  • Week 1: Write your personal testimony of regeneration
  • Week 2: Practice sharing your story with another believer
  • Week 3: Pray daily for opportunities to share Christ’s love
  • Week 4: Take one step of faith in sharing your faith with others

Your Next Step

Perhaps you’re reading this and haven’t experienced this new life in Christ. The door is open—Jesus is waiting to transform your life just as He has done for countless others. Don’t wait to embrace the life-changing power of salvation.

“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” – 2 Timothy 4:2
